Rates and scope for wedding filmmakers
Wedding video editing costs: compare independent editors
Use real listed rates to budget a teaser, highlight or documentary film—and compare the scope behind each quote.
How much should you budget to outsource a wedding edit? Start with the deliverable, then compare what each editor includes. A short teaser, a music-led highlight and a full documentary film require different briefs. Even two films of the same length can involve very different footage volumes, audio work and revision arrangements.
This guide draws on the 23 independent editor profiles published on VowFoundry when checked on 5 November 2026. It is a comparison of this directory’s listed offers, rather than an industry-wide survey or a claim about average market prices. Editors set their own fees and clients agree the final quote directly with them.
Compare the current listed rates
The table shows the wording of each published rate, including duration tiers, unavailable formats and requests for a custom quote. Open the linked profile for footage limits, turnaround, revision terms and portfolio work. Prices can change as editors update their listings.
At the source check, 22 profiles specified USD. Pollove’s dollar currency was unconfirmed, so that quote is labeled separately and is not treated as a USD price. No currency conversion or market average is used.

Five questions behind a useful price comparison
- What is the final length and format? A 30-second teaser is different from a 60-second teaser; a 3–5-minute highlight is different from an 8-minute film. Agree landscape or portrait framing, resolution and how many exports are included.
- How much footage is involved? Give the editor the total size, approximate recorded duration, camera count and number of event days. Ask whether multicam syncing, culling, drone footage and separate audio are covered.
- What finishing is included? Clarify colour correction, grading, dialogue cleanup, music selection, titles and sound design. Separate ceremony or speech edits are additional deliverables unless explicitly included.
- How do revisions work? Ask what one round means, how feedback should be consolidated and what counts as a change to the agreed brief. “Unlimited” still needs an agreed scope and review process.
- What files will you receive? Final exports and an editable project are different deliverables. Confirm software/version compatibility, dependencies, media relinking and any project-file charge.
Before asking for a quote, use the footage preparation guide and editing handoff checklist to describe the same project to every editor.
What the listed scopes reveal
Duration changes the quote
Himanshu Sharma Arts lists USD585 for a 20–30-minute feature and USD760 for a 30–60-minute feature in the single-day/multicam tier. The corresponding multi-day tiers are USD760 and USD1,010. The base film number alone therefore does not describe every wedding.
Finishing and handoff matter
I Wayan Widharma lists USD120 for a 20–45-minute documentary and USD155 for 60 minutes. Those rates exclude colour correction and grading; editable Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve project handoff is included. That is a different scope from a quote that includes finishing but excludes the editable project.
A package has its own deliverables and schedule
Wedding Edits lists a USD300 package containing a 30-second teaser, 3–6-minute highlight and 20–40-minute film. Its USD400 package covers longer deliverables. The stated complete-package turnaround is 10–14 working days after downloading the footage, with Sunday normally off. Package timing should be checked separately from the timing of one edit.

Compare deadlines as carefully as rates
Ask whether the estimate uses working days or calendar days, when the clock starts and whether it refers to the first preview or final delivery. Download time, missing assets, feedback delays and a revised brief can affect the schedule. Confirm a specific deadline and time zone when the studio has a delivery commitment.
Choose the right brief before shortlisting
Browse wedding teaser editors for a short introduction, highlight editors for a selected story, or documentary film editors for longer coverage. Our highlight versus documentary guide helps separate the deliverables. Include style references with notes about pacing, dialogue and music; the studio style guide explains how.
Are these VowFoundry’s fees?
No. These are the independent editors’ project rates. VowFoundry is a directory and does not process editing payments. Clients and editors agree scope, deadlines and payment directly. The separate listing fees page explains the free launch period for editor profiles.
